“‘Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. Truly, I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.’”

–Jesus, Mark 10:14-15, The New Oxford Annotated Bible

“Grown men can learn from very little children for the hearts of little children are pure. Therefore, the Great Spirit may show to them many things which older people miss.”

–Black Elk, Native American Medicine Man of Oglala Lakota (Sioux)

What does it mean to be like a child? Everyone knows deep down. To be childlike is to operate less from logic, the intellect, the ego, and more from the heart. It is to be operating more from love and less from fear. As a child, you listen to what you came into this world with, more than the spoon-fed knowledge of how to be from society. A child is taken care of. To remember our oneness with the Creator and that we ultimately are always taken care of is to be as a child again.
